That was SUCH a great workshop, I got everything I wanted out of it and more. Thank you so much for organizing such an inspiring speaker!!
Dr. DeLong’s talk was the best presentation I’ve attended on campus. I genuinely loved it. She is so well spoken and her story is so inspiring. I’m so glad that my college made this happen.
Participating in Peggy DeLong’s program was truly a transformative experience for both my daughter and me... The topics covered were not only relevant but also empowering. I was amazed at how much my daughter opened up about her thoughts and feelings. Peggy was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly skilled at guiding us through various activities designed to strengthen our bond and foster our mother-daughter relationship.
...We left feeling significantly more prepared to engage in open communication and were filled with optimism about the strength of our relationship moving forward. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to any mother-daughter looking to deepen their relationship, regardless of age!
Dr. Peggy offers clarity and the tools to help you free yourself from the quicksand that may be pulling you down. I walked away feeling encouraged that I would be able to use these tools to make some desired changes for myself.
Dr. Peggy DeLong gave a powerful presentation! Her very welcome talk on five daily exercises in gratitude combined her professional expertise, polished speaking style, and a great deal of heart. Students, staff, and faculty took notes, sent tips to loved ones, and walked out of the hall putting those exercises into practice on the spot.
Dr. DeLong’s workshop on happiness and burnout prevention was simultaneously deep and practical. Her fluency with the literature, podcasts, theories, and tools to bring peace to our lives is remarkable and we found ourselves full of hope about daily practices. I highly recommend bringing Dr. Peggy DeLong to any team interested in fostering personal growth and sustainability.
Dr. Peggy DeLong's passion for supporting women who are going through career and life transitions, was evidenced by her recent presentation for our participants at The Women's Center at CCM. Dr. Peggy shared useful tools and resources that attendees could easily put into practice to create more happiness and fulfillment in their lives, even while going through major life transitions. Our ladies were inspired and empowered by Dr. Peggy's message!
I am grateful to have learned from Dr. DeLong. She is warm, connected, and wise. I appreciate her sharing a life story of loss that she has transformed into a beautiful pathway to meaning, providing inspiration and hope for others to do the same with their own struggles. I shared her tips with my two daughters within five minutes. Extremely relatable and useful.

Moms, does this sound like you, too?
High Achievement often runs in families. Being a high-achiever is not a bad thing! But it can lead to
constant pressure for approval and to be “perfect” – even when you know that there is no perfect. As proud as you are of your daughter, and you should be, it's so hard to watch someone so
extraordinary struggle with self-worth despite achieving amazing things. The race to her next goal is filled with landmines of "not good enough" feelings which might manifest as anxiety, depression, isolation, or sleepless nights. She is worth so much MORE than her achievements! So are you.

"My role is no longer to be their sun. My job is to be their moon, connected by a force so strong, it will never break. I will follow along, providing light at the darkest moments, directions when needed. Sometimes my presence is large and looming, and sometimes it is small, barely seen by the naked eye.
But I am always there."- Author Unknown

What is the Prioritize P.E.A.C.E. Method?
-
Positivity
A positive mindset is essential for mental health and well-being, as our thoughts influence our feelings and actions. While positive thinkers can generate positive thoughts, many overlook and ignore their negative thoughts and painful emotions. This is known as “toxic positivity,” and is not healthy. Fostering a healthy positive mindset involves four components: 1) addressing and challenging negative thoughts, 2) cultivating positive thinking, 3) feeling and processing painful emotions, and 4) developing personalized strategies for generating positive moods.
-
Exercise
The mind and body are interconnected, making exercise vital for well-being. Physical activity alleviates symptoms of depression and anxiety and helps process painful emotions. However, many dismiss the power of simple movements, believing exercise must be intense to be effective. Research shows that even basic activities like walking and stretching significantly enhance mental health, particularly when done in nature, such as near water or trees.
-
Achievement
Setting and working toward goals provides meaning and purpose, direction and fulfilment. However, high-achievers can easily develop an unhealthy relationship with achieving. Achievements need not be grand. In fact, there’s more opportunity for feeling good when goals are intentionally kept simple, and when “smaller” goals are acknowledged and celebrated. Focusing on the smaller goals along the way also helps to enjoy the journey, rather than just the outcome, leading to more happiness in life. High-achievers are also happiest when achievement is not tied to self-worth.
-
Connection
The quality of our relationships is the strongest predictor of happiness. Cultivating relationships takes intention, yet many neglect this aspect of life, leading to loneliness. In an era where technology facilitates connections, people often feel more isolated. Nurturing existing relationships and making new ones doesn't require extensive time or energy; it simply demands intentionality in every interaction.
-
Empathy
Empathy toward others begins with self-understanding and self-compassion. Without self-compassion, we struggle to support others genuinely. By caring for ourselves first, we become more fulfilled and capable of giving authentically to others. Prioritizing self-care enhances our ability to connect with and support those around us.

Still on the fence?
I’m a mom too. I understand. As a mom of 3 young adults. I know the challenges that this phase presents. And I’ve got you covered!
I know firsthand what this program will do for your daughter, and you. How do I know? Because I’ve lived it. These are methods I use in my own life.
I teach it. I’ve been teaching these personal development and mental health methods for 30 years.
I’ve researched it. It’s important to me as a psychologist that what I teach be rooted in science, and backed by research. I’m a bit of a research nerd!
But most of all, I know firsthand what helps young adults thrive, and the barriers that get in their way and make them feel miserable. This program is carefully designed for the high-achieving young adult woman, and for you.
But here’s the thing - you need to take the first step. You need to trust in yourself and your daughter to make this investment.
I promise you, it’s worth it. If you still have questions, reach out to me. I’m happy to answer them.
