Being in nature makes us feel healthy and happy. Hiking and skiing make us feel happy and healthy. Nature and activity provide a wonderful setting for growth, transformation, and healing.

Dr. Peggy is an avid skier and hiker, engaging in both activities since she was just four years old. In fact, she and her late father, a psychiatrist, talked of developing a program together where they could support others with mental health and personal development while skiing. After her fiance’s and father’s deaths in 1994, skiing, hiking, and being in nature were instrumental in helping Peggy heal her profound grief.

Since then, she’s studied ecopsychology to understand the healing mechanisms behind nature. More specifically, she’s studied what nature and activity in nature do for healing your body, mind, and spirit.

Dr. Peggy practices Ecotherapy in the form of “Ski Therapy” and “Hiking Therapy” as nature-based ways to connect with a supportive coach to work on personal and professional goals. Although these terms have the word “therapy” in them, they are not to be confused with psychotherapy. This is not psychotherapy, and this is not healthcare.

“Ski Therapy” and “Hiking Therapy” are methods of enhancing growth through the power of movement, breathing fresh air, and appreciating the beauty and awe of the natural surroundings, including mountains, trees, water, and snow. The natural environment has research-backed physiological, emotional, and physical benefits that enhance this entire growth and development experience. Hiking and skiing in nature with Dr. Peggy is a wonderful modality for people who are open to alternative and novel approaches to growth and healing.
